The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that vaccines are stored within a range of 36ºF to 46ºF (2ºC to 8ºC), with a target temperature of 40ºF (4.4ºC). Any medical fridge needs to keep vaccines stored within this range, without ever getting too hot or too cold. The temperature should be uniform throughout the fridge to avoid accidental freeze zones or hot spots. The CDC also recommends that temperatures are monitored and recorded daily, helping pharmacy staff ensure that all medications are always stored safely.
